Mustard Breaded Pork Chops

I have always loved coming across new recipes and new ways to cook dishes that I already love. There's always room to try something new!

My grandmother shared this famous family recipe with me and it's absolutely to die for!

Ingredients:

4 Pork Chops

1/2 cup mustard of choice (I used French's Yellow Mustard)

1 cup Italian Bread Crumbs

1 clove garlic, minced

1/4 cup coconut oil

Basil leaves, ripped

First off, you need to prep your pork chops.

I put my mustard and bread crumbs each into separate bowls. Coat the pork chop in a thin layer of mustard on all sides and then coat heavily with the breadcrumbs. Make sure to cover the entire pork chop.

Side Note: If you are using a spicier mustard, make sure that you do not heavily coat your pork chop!

Once you've prepped the pork chops, you can then prep your cooking pan.

I cooked my pork in a deep skillet. Set the controls to a medium (6 or 8). Put in your coconut oil and wait until it's fully dissolved.

Then, put in your minced garlic and then put in the leaves of basil. Keep that to simmer for about a minute so the flavorings of the oil, garlic and basil can come alive.

Carefully put in your pork chops one by one into the pan. You're going to want to cook them the same amount on each side. It depends on the thickness of the pork chop. My pork chops were about 1/2 inch thick, so I cooked about 8 minutes on each side.

BEWARE: when turning over - some of the breadcrumb crust may come off. Carefully use your tongs on the sides of the pork chop and gently turn them over.

What you're going to want to see is a nice golden crust, and if you cut carefully into the middle of the chop it will be white.

With this as the centerpiece of your meal, you could serve with roasted vegetables, such as carrots or potatoes. Or, you could serve a small salad on the side.

Enjoy your new gourmet meal!
